On Thursday 16th of July LSAC Inc President Vaasili Fiso accompanied by his wife were invited to a meeting with the Senator for Queensland Sue Boyce and Shadow Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Dr Sharman Stone. The Chinese and Taiwanese communities were also represented in this meeting along with our Samoan community.
As the population continues to grow, more and more foreigners choose to migrate to Australia and seek residence. Living in a new country with a different way of life requires immigrants to adapt and contribute to a new society. The meeting was to address these topics and issues which is had among the various migrant communities of which ours is one of them.
Mr Vaasili Fiso described the meeting as a great opportunity and privilege to voice matters to government officials and others present in helping them have a better understanding and insight into our community and what we can do to improve especially in matters of immigration.
